January 2018 Litterpick

Great turnout, Christine,Ceri,Alyson,Helen, Chloe, Susy and Lucy three dogs for the girls and Ken, Justin, Damien and Thomas for the boys, apologies from Magda(studying) and John (tenerife!)

Thought the woodlands looked pretty good it was amazing the amount of litter we found despite it being too cold for the party crowd, the  drug takers etc – so the sandpit area was reasonably clear.

Ken went back with a trailer to get some heavy junk out of the woodlands later in the week

the recently planted beech trees had received some unwanted attention so we restaked and sleeved the ones affected

Watch this space for new tree planting events have 900 or so still to plant

A special thank you to Ben Briggs and the lady from peacehaven who regularly litter pick in the area

I walked through these woodlands towards the end of december. I must commend the volunteers of this woodlands for how well the woodlands has been kept.

    Diawn!

thanks for that, it’s good to see them improving, a lot of educating to do in some quarters though, as sadly some people think it is ok to leave their dog mess in bags or otherwise, and to just toss their drinks cans etc by the wayside.
we meet the first sunday of every month, 10am to 12 am all willing volunteers welcome.
